Who We Are
Yachad Outreach Center is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to educating and enriching the lives of Persian Jews in all walks of life, be it students, young professionals or families. Opportunities for exploring Jewish heritage and literature are offered through one-on-one study sessions, youth groups, singles gatherings, office lunch-and-learn programs, marriage and parenting workshops and many more weekly classes and activities. Rabbi Avraham Levychaim
Rosh Kollel
As the Rosh Kollel & Educational Director of the Yachad KolleI, over the
past nine years Rabbi Avraham Levychaim has made a profound impact on the
Los Angeles Persian Community. His depth of insight into human psyche plus
soft and gentle way of speaking enchants all. His enthusiasm for learning
coupled with his unique way of teaching has invigorated our morning and
afternoon Kollel. Rabbi Levychaim gives many interesting classes on a
variety of topics including, building & maintaining healthy marriages,
parenting, marriage preparation for singles, self motivation and Open
Discussion. His home gathering sessions have specially made him a much
sought after lecturer. With his vast Torah knowledge people are always lined
up to ask him for advice or any questions that may be on their mind. Even at
late hours of the night Rabbi Levychaim is always available.

Rabbi Baruch Amiri
Executive Director
For the past seven years Rabbi Baruch Amiri has worked single-handedly as
Yachad’s Executive Director, working tirelessly and with great dedication to
insure Yachad Kollel is financially sound. Yachad’s annual trustees’ dinner
is a brainchild of Rabbi Amiri and the testimony to his vast abilities and
energetic creativity. Those who have had the privilege of participating in
these events are awed by the beauty and elegance of the affairs and always
remember what has come to be known as Rabbi Amiri’s touch; namely the
amazing care afforded to all aspects down to the smallest detail. Although
the burden of directorship for such size organization it is enough to keep
more than one person busy, Rabbi Baruch still finds time to give much
inspiring and popular classes including his popular Lunch & Learn sessions
in downtown and thanks to his charismatic personality and vast knowledge on
various subjects he is a sought after speaker. On top of all the above,
Rabbi Amiri still finds time to have his daily learning in the Kollel.
Our ladies program director Mrs. Sigalit Amiri is a native of Israel, she
moved to Iran with her family at a young age where she lived for most of her
childhood and then to Los Angeles at age fifteen where she attended YULA.
After graduating, she earned a teacher’s degree from Breuer’s Seminary in
New York and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Touro Collage. Now with
a well spoken Ivrit Mrs. Amiri, gives a successful class for women on that
beautiful language every Wednesday mornings. She assists her husband and
handles most of the responsibilities of the home while raising there 5 cutie
intelligent children.

Rabbi Avraham Panahi
Outrreach Director
In their short time here Avraham & Shira Panahi have done a lot for the
community. Rabbi Avraham Panahi graduated from Ner Israel Rabbinical
College with a bachelor’s degree in Talmudical Law. As the Outreach Director
he has organized many programs from Dr.’s Gatherings and boys Educational
programs to the Club at Santa Monica Collage. In addition to coordinating
all these events he also coordinates public relations and organizes
publication of Jewish Spirit Magazine. R. Avraham also gives daily classes
on "Path of the Just".
Mrs. Shira Panahi is a native of Baltimore, MD. After attending Bais Yaakov
of Baltimore, she studied at Seminar Yerushalayim Hachadash in Jerusalem
where she earned her teacher’s degree. As the Girls Program Coordinator,
Mrs. Panahi is always organizing many educational and fun programs for girls
post high school, such as Sushi nights, Rosh Chodesh Events, BBQs,
Educational class series and game nights to name a few. In addition Mrs.
Panahi works at Yachad’s very popular Cotel Tape and media Library.

Rabbi Michael S. Kohanim
Administrator
Yachad would never find a better Administrator than the knowledgeable Rabbi
Michael Segan-Kohanim. After receiving his master’s degree from Ner Israel
Rabbnical Collage Rabbi Michael joined Yachad Kollel. With his vast
knowledge on many topics he is able to give good advice whenever it’s
needed. Rabbi Segan-Kohanim offers many classes on a variety of topics on a
daily basis for both men and women. Topics include; Jewish History, Hilchot
Shabbat, Gemara to name a few. In addition he is the spiritual leader of
Ahavat Shalom Synagogue where his energetic personality has made him beloved
by all.

Rabbi Yechezkel Aryeh
Rabbi Yechezel Aryeh is one of the most beloved individuals in the community
as His caring and modest personality makes him easy to talk to. As a member
of Yachad he gives many classes and shurim everyday, including topics on
Gemara, Hilchot Shabbat, Chumash & Rashi, and more. Additionally With his
enchanting and beautiful voice he has the power to rejuvenate many as the
chazzan of Yachad Kollel..
After arriving from Iran Mrs. Miriam Aryeh, attended Machon Bais Yaakov in
New York where she received a teacher’s degree. Now as the C.O.O for the
Yachad Office she is "on call" 24/6. She is the backbone of this
organization and thanks to her hard work and persistence Yachad is able to
prosper. With her creative ideas, and constant helping hand she is always
available to assist all in the community. Rabbi & Mrs. Aryeh are proud
parents of four adorable, well behaved children.

Rabbi Mordechai S. Kohanim
Rabbi Mordechai Segan-Kohanim is famous for his caring and sensitive
personality. Thanks to his keen insight and ability to see the core of an
issue and deal with it, there is always a high demand to seek his counsel
yet Rabbi Segan-Kohanim is always available for all those in need. As a part
of the Educational staff Rabbi Segan-Kohanim gives many weekly classes where
his originality and depth are always a breath of fresh air. Rabbi
Segan-Kohanim is also a successful insurance agent- so if you need a good
insurance broker don’t hesitate to call!

Rabbi Eli Refaelmehr
When one enters the Yachad Kollel it would be almost impossible not to
notice Rabbi Eliezer Refaelmehr. In addition to his enthusiasm for learning
and teaching, his huge smile is transparent and contagious. As a new member
of the Educational Staff he gives daily classes on a range of topics
including, Gemara and Hebrew language. He is also an avid basketball player
and on many a weeknights you could find him matching skills in a lively game
with the youth from the community.

Rabbi Yoseph Shemtov
A distinguished member of Yachad Outreach Center; Rabbi Yosef Shemtov is the
Director of Outreach for Young Professionals, Founder of Jewish Identity and
the Spiritual Leader of Rabbi Meir Baal Haness Synagogue. Rabbi Shemtov is
famous for numerous classes and study groups he has set up throughout the
greater L. A. area from Downtown and North Hollywood to Santa Monica and
Brentwood. His Jewish Identity singles events are likewise a big success; in
these bi-monthly programs singles gather together for a warm atmosphere,
great food, nice music, a great lecture and lots of socializing.

Rabbi Mosheh Yaghoubi
Rabbi Yaghoubi was born in Iran and moved with his family to NYC at a young
age. The newest member of the Yachad family Rabbi Yaghoubi is an inspiration
to behold. You could always recognize a Rabbi Moshe study group by how he
engages every single participant and great amount of give and take. His
students also enjoy his invitations for Shabbat meal where one could expect
a delicious meal warm atmosphere and premium quality beer.

Rabbi Shlomo Zargari
Rabbi Shlomo Zargari is known for his unique way of teaching. As Outreach
Director for Collage Campus and Youth Division he is renowned for building
strong lifelong relationships with many young adults in our community at
varying religious levels. He has carefully designed his unique outreach
efforts to provide the youth with as many options as possible. He has
nightly discussion sessions on a variety of interesting subjects for those
that are more relaxed in a group setting, and for those who desire a more
personal setting, he provides one-on-one sessions where the subject matter
is picked by the student. Rabbi Shlomo is always available and is constantly
ready to give advice or answer any questions that may come up. Rabbi
Zargari’s immense knowledge and real-world experience allows for a wide
arrange of discussion topics from dating and family advice to learning about
Torah and Mitzvot.
